Chesterton On The Web
I’ve recently felt the need to reacquaint myself with the works G.K. Chesterton. I’ve read Orthodoxy, which left me both puzzled and intrigued, and I’ve started The Man Who Was Thursday several times, and though I find it very intriguing, I never stick with it. But I’ve found that even snippets of Chesterton’s writings are among the most rewarding things I’ll read all day/week/month, and so I keep reading.
So, to any Chestertonites out there, where would be a good place to start on this list? While you’re thinking that over, I’ll just revisit what is perhaps my favorite Chesterton quote:
Here dies another day
During which I have had ears, eyes, hands
And the great world around me;
And with tomorrow begins another.
Why am I allowed two?

November 13, 2005 10:43pmI’m reading “The Everlasting Man” right now and it’s pretty incredible. It’s pretty much all I’ve read of his; but, I agree with your statement about his essays. They’re what got me interested.

November 15, 2005 9:52amThe Everlasting Man is Chestertons account of Human History and very good, I am still reading it.
For fiction finish ‘The Man Who Was Thursday’, but also read ‘The Napolean Of Notting Hill’, ‘Manalive’ and ‘The Flying Inn’.
