“Christian” Idol…

“Christian” Idol…

Sigh… Somehow, when Paul wrote that “I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some.“, I doubt he was talking about this.  Right?

And why does it not surprise me that the Trinity Broadcasting Network is involved?

I don’t know the full idea of Trinity Broadcasting Network, can you expand on the irony? (I’m in Australia, I don’t get the channel/stuff)

Well, if you’ve never seen TBN, I don’t think a mere explanation will suffice.  But put simply, TBN has a reputation for offering up a very gaudy and showy form of Christianity.  Take all of the stereotypes of fundamentalist and charismatic Christianity, and chances are, TBN fits many of them.

For a while there, TBN was one of the few television stations I got, and I always found watching it to be simultaneously amusing, fascinating, and frightening.

Well believe it or not that makes complete sense. Especially the amusing fascinating and frightening part… am I thinking Benny Hinn? That kind of stuff? I could even be thinking Fletch Lives (man that’s an old movie but I love it ;) ).

I did look at their site and well, quite simply it’s not surprising that it’s like that at all… so in conclusion… Bleh.

Yeah, Benny Hinn is right on the money.  And the “Fletch Lives” reference is great!
