- Transformers was fun. Not as much fun as I was expecting or hoping for, but fun nevertheless. However, what really blew me away was the mystery trailer that played before the film. Which, as it turns out, is for J.J. Abrams’ (Alias, Lost) new film that is currently going under the name Cloverfield.
- Do Make Say Think is going on tour throughout the summer and fall. Yo, peep that November 9th date!
- Filter previews the new Go! Team album, Proof of Youth. You can listen to the first single, “Grip Like A Vice”, on the band’s MySpace page, or read my review of the band’s previous album, Thunder, Lightning, Strike.
- BBBCanada has posted some photos from Cornerstone 2007. You can find more Cornerstone photos in this Flickr group.
- jQuery 1.1.3.1 is out—800% faster than previous versions, still only 20kb in size!
- J. Robert Parks remembers Edward Yang, who died on June 29, 2007 due to colon cancer. I’ve only seen one Yang film—Yi Yi—and I had fairly mixed opinions of it. However, I feel a need to revisit it, especially after reading Jeffrey Overstreet’s heartfelt review.
- 3Hive looks at The Winston Jazz Routine—these guys were one of my faves at Cornerstone 2007.

July 6, 2007 10:36amRight on; that new Abrams project looks very interesting. It’s ridiculous that Paramount is going out of their way to keep it off the web though. I guess they don’t want the film to generate too much buzz, and I don’t know, make money at the box office come January. Heaven forbid!

July 9, 2007 8:00amcool about the j.j. abrams trailer. i was a huge fan of “lost” (season 1) and “alias.“ i’ve heard he’d signed on to direct the new star trek movie, but passed on it to direct (the) film adaptation(s) of stephen king’s “dark tower” novels. as much as i’d love a new trek movie directed by him, i gotta say i’m way more excited about seeing roland et al come to the big screen.
