It’s The Same Old Song

I know that poking fun at bands like Nickelback, Puddle Of Mudd, 3 Doors Down, and Creed is exactly like shooting fish in the barrel—sure it’s good for a laugh or two, but it’s way too easy and obvious.  However, this was just too good to pass up (link requires an MP3 player).  It’s best experienced on headphones, because then you realize that those are 2 distinct Nickelback songs playing at once.  Distinct, and yet oddly similar, right down to the tortured, angst-ridden vocals.

But hey, if it ain’t broke, why fix it?

    Ah, fine Canadian lads ... and to think they won a best songwriter Juno (Canadian equivalent to the Grammys) over Ron Sexsmith ...

    that was amazing….and almost worth the fact that “this is how you remind me” is going to be stuck in my head all day.

    Yeah, I had those hot riffs stuck in my head for awhile too.  But sometimes it’s worth the risk.
