The Corpse Bride - Free Preview Screening
Attention Lincoln folks - a free sneak preview of The Corpse Bride will take place at The Mary Riepma Ross Film Theatre on Thursday, Sept. 22, at 11pm (scroll down to the bottom of the homepage for the listing). Passes are available at the box office, which can then be traded in for tickets on the day of the show. (However, having a pass does not guarantee you a ticket.)
Mack over at Twitch saw the film at TIFF, and though he liked it well enough, didn’t consider it rave-worthy. Personally, I’m just hoping it outdoes the underwhelming Charlie And The Chocolate Factory. If it does that, I’ll be plenty happy.

September 18, 2005 2:23pmWhen I went to get my pass, the girl working at the Ross told me I had to have a student ID to get in. I’m not sure if that’s accurate, since I would think they’d mention that on the website if it wasn’t for the general public. At any rate, she’d only let me get one pass, since she said it was one per student ID.

September 20, 2005 2:18pmI sent an email to the contact address given on theross.org, and the director replied saying:
“Sorry. I dont know who on our staff told your friend that story but its simply not true. Anyone can be admitted to the screening, as long as the first pick up a pass, and then pick up a ticket on the night of the screening. The passes dont guarantee seats so pass holders need to come early enough to get an actual ticket that does guarantee one a seat. I hope this clarifies things satisfactorily for you and I hope to see you hear the night of the screening. Thanks.”

September 20, 2005 2:54pmCool, thanks for the clarification, Daniel. So I guess we can go in early in the evening to get a ticket, leave, and then saunter in just before 11 and have a seat? cool.

September 22, 2005 4:49pmArgh. They don’t start exchanging passes for tickets until 9:30 says the sign on the door.
